There were 4 models Borgward, Hansa, Goliath and Lloyd!!!

My funny bone kicks in:

"Borgward" - towards a malignant alien species.
"Hansa" - "Hamsa" AKA "The Hand of Fatima/Mary/Merriam".
"Goliath" - "Goliath Awaits", a bad 1980s movie.
"Lloyd" - an insurance company.

All joking aside, that's a pretty car!

Not my first car or first bike. I bought and restored this first year 1975 Honda GoldWing in the 90's. Owned and rode many different types of bikes before and after this one, but funny as it seems this is the one I miss the most, can't explain it?

My first car, bought for $800 in 1986 from the original owner.
1965 Dodge Coronet 440. Had a 273 with 3 speed column shift and seated me and 7 of my buddies! Funny Eric that you mentioned putting an 8 track in the glove box, that's where I installed my cassette player cause I didn't want to remove the working AM push button radio.
I wish I still had that car...

Mine was green. I paid $50.00 for it in 1966. It had 56,000 miles on it and It smoked like I was fogging for misquitoes... Took me and my Dad a couple of weekends to find and replace a couple of burnt valves, and a blown seal in the automatic transmission that was allowing transmission fluid to be vacuumed into the carburetor. (transmission used a vacuum assisted advance to change gears... that's what caused all the smoke!)

Was t-boned and totaled by an uninsured guy running a stop sign in 1967...

You look just like the Drill Sergeant I had in 1967... at Fort Bragg. (E-7-2) He had unbelieveable stamina. He would go to town or the club and drink till they closed... then come back to the baracks about 3AM, and fall asleep in front of the TV, then get up at 5AM and kick our butts ALL DAY LONG !!! ...and then do it all again!

Not me John, I was a Drill at Ft Campbell, Mar 70-Oct 72, Ft Wood, Oct 72- July 75. I've had a lot of twins it seems around the world, one got me in a lot of crap when I living in Dunoon, Scotland, didn't pay his bills, womanized, it was a Navy Sub Base, Holyloch. I got kicked out of some places and my face slapped by a few women and one gal was pregnant. Never did come face to face with him.

As for unbelievable stamina.... I've been accused of having that too all my life by all 'my' lady friends. :thumbsup:

My first car was a 49 Ford sedan, I had to sell it before I could drive it, I was 16, I didn't make enough money that summer to pay for the car and my school books and clothes. Next year I got a 54 Chevy sedan on my 17th birthday, first day I drove it, it was to school a wild woman hit me in the driver side rear, that happened on a Friday, I was at the recruiter that Monday. My first cars bring back bad memories and a mother of all pessimist. My classic cars came after I established my own life on my own. :thumbup:

True story, Four of us went to the drive-in in Moms 68 Malibu. My best friend Jimmy was in the back seat with a first date. My future first wife and I left them alone for at least a half and hour to the snack bar. Playing was 'The Last House On The Left'!! Every thing was fine until my mom went out to use her car the next morning. Evidently Jimmy had a open black magic marker in his back pocket. You could map out his moves. All over the back seat including the cars' ceiling. They we permanent and were there for as long as mom owned her car~

I had a young Lt in Germany that I worked side by side with that needed a ride to the Saab dealer in Frankfort to pick up his new Saab one day. That was in 79/80, sharp car, I traded my piece of junk in on a brand new Ford Mustang while we were there. That young Lt turned into a full Colonel and a hero on 9-11 at the Pentagon.

Mark was one of very very few Lt's I had respect for and one of few officers I had respect for during my career. We were the OIC and the NCOIC , S-2 75th Field Artillery Bn. We were the Bn A/B team members for accountability of our 8inch Nuclear rounds and the codes used to release those weapons and the training of other A/B members at battery level.

I hated pumpkin pie but his wife changed my mind, hers was damn good. I haven't ate pumpkin pie since.

Here's the first car I owned. My 1967 Plymouth Fury III land yacht... 440 Mopar engine with 2 bbl carb... of course the weight of the car took that much power to keep up... I remember 8mpg - of course the gas was 14 cents a gallon in 1970.

Here's the first car I rode in. It's a 1950 Dodge. I'm in the picture (not visible) with my mother... The Dodge had a Fluid Drive transmission. I remember it being fun to watch my Mother shift this car...
