Close up of the magazine

Very nice looking gun. Matching mag is MINT.

Should the ejector be black? I'm not a WWII guy, but aren't they usually red/reddish on these later Mausers?

Ejector color varies greatly according to how long it was heat treated. I don't see any immediate issues with this one.

I also agree that this is the original, matching magazine. There are no obvious signs of scrubbing and renumbering. The mag bottom has the correct, factory contour with no buffing or tampering.

The price is top end for me as well, but within the "fair" range for such a pistol.

Just let me add, that to me it seems a gorgeous Luger, ... makes my mouth dribble ... :-)

Hi Ray, well the experts gave their opinions on this beautiful Luger and they say it is righteous and since Lugers seldom come along this nice and although it may not be at a bargain price I would be willing to bet that if you don't add it to your collection you will regret it, I say, get it while you can.

The old saying is: "If It overpriced but right, It won't be overpriced for long"!

Starting out "mint" for your 1st one is sweeter than cherry pie :roflmao:
if its a complete rig, go4it

Luger came today and she is absolutely gorgeous! The seller threw in an extra magazine that's in as just as fantastic condition as the mag number to the pistol except this is a 3 digit "U" magazine. Are the lower numbered magazines/"U" type any more rare or valuable?

Zorba 09-05-2013 03:41 AM

Congrats!

Your extra magazine 799u would be from 1939 production. The "u" suffix or 3 digit serial number will not add any additional value to it.
