Tom, I'm in the RTP / Triangle area.

Tom, Other than the last 2 digits of the serial oon the lower edge of the side plate & TD lever, all other commerical small parts will not be numbered. Your barrel, if original (probably 7.65mm) should at least be C/N proofed and possibly have the full serial on the bottom. If not, the 9mm barrel may be a later replacement. TH

Mr. Heller: The entire gun, interior parts as well as exterior, looks absolutely unused and brand new. I don't understand why anyone would change the barrel on a gun of this condition. Also why the lower edge of the side plate and take down lever are not numbered is still a mystery to me.

why anyone would change the barrel on a gun of this condition is easily answered. It was originally a .30 Luger and the owner wanted to change it to a 9mm.

a commercial dwm with suffix n under serial would put it between 1923-1925 and make it an alphabet commercial. looks brand new. brand new..... does it have a sear safety?doesnt look like it from the pics, is there a hole for a sear safety? the side plate take down and bbl were possibly replaced. maybe it was shot with corrosive ammo and stored separately from the sideplate and takedown

Hey guys: I guess I don't know what I have but it is like a new gun that I will put in my safe and shoot, which I do, my other lugers which I love.

Tom, It's impossible to tell for sure without physically inspecting your luger, but here are a few facts to consider: An unproofed 9mm barrel on a commerical luger was probably in violation of the Versailles Treaty, and without some police or military acceptance markings is unlikely to be FACTORY original. It's quite possible that either Stoeger or Pacific Arms Corp. may have added the 9mm barrel on arrival here in the USA, or it may have been added last week. I alway question lugers with perfect finish including the straw on a 90+ year old luger. THis just doesn't happen. Tom H.
