Can you give us a hint of who that dealer was?
|
Not at the moment. We will be meeting with Reinhard Kornmayer in juli, and I will ask him about the specifics of this story. Forum member MRerick will be there as well, including video equipment. Perhaps we can even get a confirmation on video :)
The pistols were marked in Germany, by a German gun smith apprentice who came forward with this statement a couple of years ago to some researchers who, like Mr. Kornmayer, worked for german gun magazine DWJ. |
This will be very interesting, especially if any serial number record exists of exactly which pistols were so marked.

The Germans captured some British tanks during WWI and even fielded them against their former owners. However, the lack of tools and spare parts meant that most of such vehicles had to be abandoned when faced with mechanichal issues. Howevcer, a few vehicles in working condition was still in hands of the Germans when the Armistice was signed and they were put against the Reds. There is a good book, that gives an overall view on Freikorps movement, issued by Osprey: http://books.google.com.br/books/abo...EC&redir_esc=y Douglas |
