I just sold one with P-08 frame, NIB, but no target, with the antler proof and dated 1973 for $1400. I would have liked to get $2000! I tried $1800 but no takers. Got a hit at $1400 level.

2,000, my God, I could not imagine it being worth that. To think I paid 750 for a mint one in the box in 1994 for 750.00, and it had everything. 9mm 4 inch. I just got my .30 Mauser Parabellum back after not having it for 23 years. I lost it in pawn in 1989/90 it had to be 90 for I have a picture of it dated 1990, but I swear it was 89. AND on May 4th I stumbled on the exact same gun on Florida Gun traders, for I remembered the serial number, I had the box until 2004. AND it is still unfired. This is it pictured in the box, and the other is how it looks now

Hello everyone, I am new to the Luger Forum and am not too familiar with them. However recently, an American Eagle 9mm P-08 (06/73) stainless steel Luger serial number S34XX became available to me to buy. I am looking for some more information regarding this weapon. Specifically a price or price range.

I have been reading some of the other posts and have seen a lot of numbers flying around. Anybody who can assist me with some prices would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if this is a repeated question but it seems the price may range greatly from weapon to weapon.

I think what you are looking at is a Stoeger reproduction made sometime in the early to mid 90's.Those pistols do not have any relation to the 70's Mauser production. I do know that there were problems with these early on. Do a search here for Stoeger and you'll get the information you are looking for.

That said, some people like 'em, some don't. I don't have any experience so I can't say.

I think the biggest single item that dictates real value of the item as pertains to Mauser Parabellums is the box it came in and the accessories that are with it!

My first Parabellum is a 9mm with the box,test target, manuel and tool. I paid slightly over a grand, which I thought was high at the time, but now I am thinking I got a pretty good deal.

My second Parabellum was a 7.65mm and it came with one(1) magazine. This gun is a real cherry, nice from the word "go" and shoots really well. It also is one of the very early Parabellums without the radius on the reciever. Paid slightly over seven hundred and thought I got the "buy of a lifetime".

Both of the above pistols have the ever popular 6" barrel and the good old Swiss grips.

I think the real issue of what a gun is worth is really determined by WHEN you buy it. The 7.65 was purchased during December when folks are trying to scrape together money for Christmas and because of this, I think I got a really good deal.

There is another important factor: What the intended use of the gun is. I purchased both of these pistols for the soul purpose of shooting them. I don't believe in "safe queens" and will not own a gun I cannot shoot.............................

Mauser Interarms Luger American Eagle Value?
 

I have a 1970s Mauser Interarms Luger American Eagle and I would like to know the value. I have no box and no barrel scraping tool. I do have(2) an extra mauser marked magazine as well as the magazine tool . There is a chip on the right side of the wood grips. It has seen less then 300 rounds of use. I am the second owner.

My guesstimate is $600-900, maybe a tad more; depending on venue and/or salesmanship. Collectors have traditionally been less interested in these post war models, but thanks to some they are coming into their own as collectibles, not too far behind original Lugers in value. Gerben, a member here (vlim) is co-author of a book about these variations.

Yours is in pretty nice shape, too bad about that grip. Check with Hugh Clark, yet another member (hugh) who is highly skilled in the arena of Luger grips; he may have a better spare available. Nice, clean looking pistol, congrats.

I agree with the assessement above. It's a relatively common variation, but without the original accessories it will bring quite a bit less than a completely boxed pistol with all accessories.

Interarms/ Mauser Lugers
 

I came on an Interarms imported Mauser Luger at a gun show. It seemed to be in very good condition and at a reasonable price.
My questions to you experienced people-- Are these types of Lugers generally good shooters?
Are there any particular problems with them?
Are replacement parts interchangeable with other Lugers?
I am told that these pistols were made in the 1970s True?
Any other information that you could share would be welcome.

I consider my Interarms Luger a good shooter, and it goes to the range often. I have not experienced any real problems with mine, but I did clean up and polish the feed ramps before taking it to the range.

I do not know exactly how many of the "new" Luger parts will interchange with the original ones, but for sure the grips will not. The mags will, and also the mag catch/release.

These lugers were made in the late 60s and 70s.

The most sought after Interarms Lugers are the ones with the P08 grip frame( 06/73 Model). There are less of these available than the Swiss grip frame( no bump on the bottom of the front grip frame).

Both 4 and 6in barrels are available....also 9mm, and 30 Luger calibers.

The ones with all of the original equipment(box, target, 2 mags, loading and cleaning tools) are worth more than with out these items.

Thanks for the additional information. In this situation as in several others I become interested in a certain type of gun when everyone else has been for about a year! By then the prices have gone up and I am usually too late to do any good!
I will keep my eyes open and maybe get a bargain.

I searched very hard(nearly daily) for my 06/73 Mauser, and it took nearly 9 months to find the one that I wanted. I have had ZERO buyer's remorse, and have seriously considered purchasing another. Just keep your eyes open and hopefully one will slide by.

Any interent price on any LUger is ridiculously inflated, can someone explain to me why? Especially the place this gentleman bought this Parabellum from.

In addition to the 4 & 6 inch barrels there is a 5 inch.
I have two examples on the Swiss style frame with 5 inch pencil barrels.
(120 mm, 4.5 inch? Don't have them to hand.)

One of the biggest mistakes I've made was letting an 06/73 30 cal with a 4.75-5 inch barrel get away from me. I had the money with me but continued walking the aisles at the gunshow and didn't go back.
