That is the chamber ridge where the case mouth of the 9mm cartridge stops for proper headspacing. Only the bullet(projectile part) extends beyond that ridge. It sure would help if you could supply us with a photo of a 9mm cartridge in the chamber of your barreled receiver....off of the frame. If this is impossible, I understand.

For all of you who were so kind to help me I found out why my Luger was jamming.

I was using Lellier and Bellot 9 mm PARA 4.4mm Boxer ammo. Iswitched to good old Winchester targer 9 mm ammo FMJ and it works fine.

The tolerances must be so tight in this gun that just a small variance in the Czech Lellier ammo was enough to cause the shell to jam.

I see why these handguns are so accurate. The specs are really tight.

Not like a Saturday Night .45 special that has the barrel wobble around when you fire it and can't kit anything unless its a foot away!

Thanks again all.

Dave, Are you sure that your luger has the ORIGINAL matching serial numbered barrel installed? If the barrel has been replaced, perhaps it has not been properly head spaced and needs a chamber ream. Your local (or perhaps in Naptown) gunsmith should be able to do this. TH
