Just wanted to add that the 'hold me in honor' translation is a bit strange. The phrase 'Halte mich in Ihren' means something like 'Remember Me', 'Preserve Me' or 'Respect Me'.
So I would go for 'Honor Me', not 'Hold me in Honor'. |
Hold me in Honor would be the literal or word-for-word translation of 'Halte mich in Ehren'. "Honor me" would be the idiomatic transliteration conveying the "sense" of the phrase, so you are closer to the intent of the inscription. But to someone not used to the German idiom the 'hold me in honor' isn't strange.
