Sorry Rich, I must have been up too late last night when I wrote that.

I'll email Gerry today.

By the way, my Karabiner is NOT marked "Interarms". The stock has a tiny knot through it. Kinda cute, and reminds me of Cindy Crawford's face:burnout:

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Gents,

I was conversing with Postino in another section, and thought that I should drop this note in the right spot.

The test card for the Karabiner shows a 2.2 cm (7/8ths of an inch) spread at 25 meters (about 80 feet). "Excellent" is anything under 5cm, so 2.2 is HOT.

I had a little trouble with the firing pin spring retainer (it jammed), but she's good to go now, with a little help from some choice Canadian swear words.

Looking forward to trying her out around the 26th. I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,

Bill

CIRELAW, I found a small card in the case dealing with "Leather Care". No maker's name on it, but the instructions are in English and ITALIAN, so I'd guess that the case is Italian.

I'm also getting two MEC-GAR mags from Gerry with nickle bodies and French walnut caps, like the ones John Martz used on his Lugers. The MAUSER-marked mags in the case do indeed have very stiff springs (and wood caps), but I'll put them away, not for shooting. Nice to see the MAUSER banner marked on the cleaning rod and loading tool as well.

Funny........the rear of the receiver is marked MADE IN GERMANY. The pistol was made in 1979, and Germany unified in 1990, so shouldn't the pistol have been marked Made in WEST Germany, like most items made before unification?

Cheers,

Bill
