Sorry for hijacking your thread-the girls made me do it, or it's Bush's fault, I forget which:o Anyway, I will be happy to refurbish your grips for you, the price is $65 to rechecker, stain and oil, including return postage. Turnaround is presently about two weeks. You can send the grips and a personal check to: Hugh Clark PO Box 598 Devers, Tx 77538 http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...ski-before.jpghttp://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...wski-after.jpg |
Hugh..I may be wrong but I don't believe that is what Alx is asking about or wanting? (refurbishing?) Hence the title of the thread..million dollar chip missing? Unless you restore the missing chip with the refurbishing service?
If I remember correctly, some talented member was doing a repair of the common grip chip ..... I have a set of otherwise nice grips with the chip missing aft of the safety But from reading your reply and looking at those terrible grips..(before) and the afters I guess that's exactly what you do! Great job! |
Hugh, the thread wasn't hi-jacked, there were four of us that confirmed you are without a doubt the best. The thread was over at that time, we gave a phone number, email address and physical address, what else can one say. Anyway, thanks for the girls.

I was just trying to play along .... those swat gals look loaded and HOT ! so I thought they were good for a hijack.

Did a fantastic job. The other guy wanted 3 times as much and wanted be to send the entire piece!
|
Hugh, i bought a bunch of grips while over here (but from a friend in the states), and I know the last deal i made with you made your girls cry and refuse you for weeks, but I will contact you when I get back to civilization in 9 days :D

Ed,
I think I still have a couple pair from that last deal I haven't sent to you yet!:banghead: |

You are right!:p Alx, To repair your grip without refurbishing is $35 including return postage.:o |
Gentlemen:
If you refurbish the grips on an all matching Luger, does it adversely affect the value? Hopefully it would not, because it adds so much to the beauty of the pistol. Thanks. Neil |
Neil, my opinion is no
Usually you can tell from the rear if fixed, I clean my grips, completely restoring I am more adverse to, but don't think of it personally as a bad thing. AND, I have had grips restored because they just 'needed' it. Ed |
I agree with Ed, as it is a "repair" rather than a restoration and it is not intended to fool anybody, I think a grip repair should not hurt, but perhaps enhance the value of a collector pistol
