P.38 by all means,

Do You know if its still the official sidearm still for any contry or republic?

Maybe not!

I talked with some Portugese soldiers carrying P1s in Bosnia '95, and they told me that it's was their standard issue sidearm. They loved their pistols, not sure if they still use them though.

I've carried both P-38s and Lugers in the line of duty - luckily I never had to use either. I'd take the P-38 any day.
