FN,
I have been messing with guns for years and decided to wander into the rabbit hole, I pulled out the take down lever and the side plate fell of while I was messing with the barrel assembly. I knew it was on. I find taking stuff apart not too difficult, it is the putting it back together that gets interesting. Thank you for taking the time to post the link, I will watch them all.

Regards,
Thomas

Hi Thomas, While you have your gun apart, could you please take a picture of the view shown below. Your gun has some troubling features, and your photos still leave much to be desired. Thanks, Norm

Thanks Thomas, Based on your latest photos I tend to believe the finish on your gun is original. Even though your gun is a DWM it has an Erfurt proof on the receiver (see comparison photos) which is not unheard of. It also has an Erfurt proof on it's takedown lever which is more troubling (see third photo). I would also like to see halos on the barrel serial, but that could be your photos. Anyway, the jury is still out, but I am leaning towards genuine. Regards, Norm

All the best,
Thomas
