Well, since I know it came out of a nice collection in Wisonsin, and on the same street as you live, I can point you or others to some more really nice pieces that are for sale :)

Thank you for the photo. I could see it quite clearly when I enlarged the second photo in your initial post. It is as I stated, a DWM acceptance mark usually found on military pieces.

thanks Ron ,the serial on the extractor is different ,so I will make it a shooter instead of a collectors gun, thanks again

Mighty expensive shooter! Other than the mismatched extractor and the non-original front sight (which is found quite frequently on these early guns), your gun is in excellent condition. The 9mm 1906 production is relatively small making these guns a prize for Luger collectors. Even in its less than original condition I would guess its value is in the neighborhood of $2500 plus or minus.

Yes, can get you a shooter for $700 and trade you with a couple of hudnred bucks thrown in...

The breechblock is an Imperial proof mark, applied to military guns upon passing the power-proof test. Its presence suggests the breechblock may not be original to this gun.

you can find a 600€ WW2 shooter here, making it a shooter was more of a joke ,I gave it back, I am just not that happy with "I got an A.E 1906 commercial but the extractor is not original"
take care Ed

Reinhard,
I understand your reason for returning the gun and I am glad the seller was willing to take it back. But, now you need to find another one!:)
