Here is another gem that has not been blocked.

You'd think this guy would read a few books or talk to some collectors in his travels.

One wonders how he was able to get to the position he now has.

Bothe my grandfathers went to France in 1917.

My dad was 506th PIR in WW2. Uncles in Marines and Seabees as well.

I did 2 combat tours in RVN.

I do not recall them mentioning souveniers as a big issue.

I collected WW2 stuff as a kid-there was tons of it still in hands of the vets.
From about 1960-1965.

One thing I noted was that the biggest hordes of stuff came from REMFS.
Mostly guys who came along later and picked through piles of stuff.
The combat guys sometimes had a pistol or two, but in general they had had all they wanted of it.

My own experience in RVN somewhat confirmed that.

That (:rtfm:deleted)"expert" is a disgrace. I am a NRA life member, we/I do not need (deleted)guys like that representing us. Reminds me of some of the "elected Union officials" that I had to support before I cashed out. I paid my dues, all of them. US Army 26 years and too many in the ibew.
"Our brothers at work".

Vince, I understand your passion but please try not to use cursewords to make your point. It makes it more pleasant for us all.

Jerry and all. I sincerly apologize (sp?). Thank all of you for being the Gentlemen that you are. "No excuse sir". This Board is the finest group of Gentlemen that I have ever been part of. Again, my humble apology.

Vince, No problem! We all need a reminder every so often...Phil Schreier in this interview would make the Pope think about swearing! He wouldn't of course...
Thanks for your kind words.
