Wayne..I think your project is worth looking into..It is certainly not too far gone to get functioning again.
3. The safety just flaps in the wind. Have you had it out of the pistol to inspect it? #4. The tension pin for the safety lever is GONE By this do you mean the pin that holds the safety lever into the frame? #5. The grips are almost completely worn smooth and there are letters carved into the left grip. These can be re checkered by Hugh Clark. He does fantastic work. The worst part of all this is the barrel and I am sure that can be sleeved and perhaps the bulge turned off on a lathe. I would guess you wouldn't have any more than $6-700 max in bringing it back to shootable condition. Of course there are surface problems that might require deep re finishing..re bluing. Another $500-600 I would guess if you contact Charles Danner. On the extractor you might want to consider a Swiss re inforced extractor if you want to shoot it. I guess it might depend on how much you have in it now... |
I actually have 0$ into it. Anything I do will just be to bring an old pistol back to life. I can honestly say I probably would not shoot it , I just want it to function properly. It is a low serial# 1900 and I think deserves a second chance.
