he has to have their FFL, it is legal for him to receive it back WITHOUT being sent to a FFL; you can read this in the ATF regulations.

Quote:

(2)
for any importer, manufacturer, dealer, or collector licensed under the provisions of this chapter to ship or transport in interstate or foreign commerce any firearm to any person other than a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector, except that—

(A)

this paragraph and subsection (b)(3) shall not be held to preclude a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector from returning a firearm or replacement firearm of the same kind and type to a person from whom it was received; and this paragraph shall not be held to preclude an individua from mailing a firearm owned in compliance with Federal, State, and local law to a licensed importer licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector

Thanks again to all. I did send my Luger to Simpson's and just received the appraisal back. To quote "This pistol is an exceptional example of a commercial sale 1900 Eagle, and it would be hard to find a better example." 98-99% blue and 90-95% straw.

I am going to offer it for sale; probably try an auction or GunBroker.com etc.. Thanks again.

Sorry. Should have looked first. I didn't realize that there was a 'for sale' section to this forum. Perhaps I'll start there. Thanks again again.

Bill, Was that the total wording of the appraisal?

Jerry,

No, certainly not.

Since there had been, when I first posted about the gun, some comments about the authenticity of the pistol I just quoted that sentance to confirm my assertions.

Bill, I have never seen an appraisal from Simpson's so I was Just curious how they went about it..Congratulations by the way. A fine pistol to be sure. Good Luck with your sale.
