Beautiful rig with great provenance!

Make sure it's properly insured and stored.

Those dried out old wood grips are also prone to crack and chip when shooting a Luger. Damaging an original grip would be a terrible shame.

Just a quick note to say we went up to the local range last weekend and put maybe 150 rounds through the Luger - possibly the last time I'll fire it based on all the cautions received here.

I used it on both the rifle range, with the clip-on stock, and on the pistol range. With small sandbags and the stock it is wonderfully accurate - very tight cluster. Anyway, just reporting that all went well - no damage at all and I gave it a good cleaning and oiling after the shooting.
