Thats one thing that had me a bit concerned, I was also thinking that perhaps the TD lever broke so as to leave the body of the lever in the well.....I know picture #1 shows clear through the TD well, but I'm wondering......if we can lift the toggle train up we can check for hold open......at this point I would love to get mt hands on it and solve the issue.....

If the slide is frozen, then the toggle train movement will be very limited... I would have him send it to me, but unfortunately I let my C&R expire... and have to get it renewed... so sending it to you is the likely solution if I can't walk him through it over the phone.

The ding in tne frame may have bent the rail on the top half. If this is true, the whole upper will be messed up when it is driven out. My 2 cents. John:order:

A ding in the frame rail will not constitute a major obstacle to becoming functional, it just needs to be ironed out... on both the frame and the upper assy... |
