I am always surprised by this. Would anybody feel different if a German car driven by a recklas drive ran over a person as opposed to getting smashed by a big Oldsmobile. Machinery is not to blame, it surely is the operator of the Machinery! Thor

The E German grips might be recent replacements the owner bought at a gun show and slapped on. Often, orig grips were removed and replaced by the GI's for various reasons and lost over time.


As for out of sequence P08's--I was fortunate enough to see a commercially stamped (post 1941 E/N) Erfurt that was in some of the dip blued Russian imports. It had, of course, been reworked but in its original incarnation as indicated by assembly, s/n's and other details it was a commercially sold luger with Erfurt toggle. As best I can tell from reading Still's 3rd RL's book (which pictures a similar luger)it was made up of old parts during WW2.
