Re: A Pretty Dreyse?

Sid,

I hope someone can post a photo too, these are sort of ugly pistols, but with some "charm" to them. I would post a photo, but first off I don't have a digital camera yet and anyway, it will be next weekend before I can see my "Ugly Duckling". Help someone, post a photo!

Re: A Pretty Dreyse?

I'll try to post a picture of mine, (ugly as it is). The pistol has a latch on the back that when released, the top flips up for easy cleaning of the 'innards'. The problem with mine is that the latch is so worn, the top flips up during firing: which is not bad in my case because the striker sear is so worn, that if the top did not flip up after every shot, the pistol would go full auto! These pistols were issued to rear units in WW1, as far as numbers go 7.65 mm, (.32 auto), was quite common, a rare version exists in 9mm.

Thanks John D. for the photo. It sure is an interesting looking pistol and does have some "charm" to it. Thanks once again.

Re: Here you go - a picture.....

John,

Thanks from me too on posting the photo. I hope that my wife does not laugh herself silly when she opens the box to oil my new "toy". She will think I have lost my mind when she sees this pistol after all the Lugers and P.38s I have been buying. I know she will think the Everglades has effected my brain, ha, ha, ha.

I can't wait to take my little "beauty" to the range and see if will shoot worth a darn. As it looks it will near Christmas now before I am home for good! Man, I want to shoot my new toys. I have a couple of new Lugers, P.38s, and an M1A that I put a new variable power scope on and I want to fire this one for accuracy at 300 yards. I guess my week of at Christmas will be full of shooting fun if it not too cold.

Ugly it is, I LOVE IT!

Have always liked the slightly odd looking gun.

And someone said they have a nickled one? Heh, heh, cool.

Re: WHITE WIDOWS......Sorry G.T. But you can't wriggle out of it that

easy! Unless you can come up with some documented proof we are hanging the coining of that endearing term on you

Besides, it should definitely increase your orders for White WIdow mag bottoms You could make them out of Ivory Soap and just pack instructions with them about not getting them wet or dropping them bottom first(LOL! )

regards,

John
