Don't worry about the ballistic efficiency of the old world 9mm round.
It's not a problem, lethal up until some 1200+ meters.

1966 VoPo manual (short barrel P08): Maximum range: 1500 meters.
1917 LP08 manual: At 800 meters a horse skull as well as a French helmet will be penetrated completely.

Wow!! I always thought that those elevated sights on the Artillery models and the Inglis Browning P-35s were optimistic! Learn something new everyday!

For what its worth and those up to par on I phones, there is an ap you can download "ballistic calculator" - web page igor@borisov.mobi that helps determine ballistics on bullets with weather factors and other variables. I use it on some of my rifles as a starting point of where the bullet will land at certain distances. Its fun to play with while out shooting. Once all variables are plugged in it gives you a table with (Bullet speed,Energy, time of flight, vert correction, vertical MOA and horizontal corrections) at different yards.

There are a couple of dufferent app's one can download with this type of features.

Just thought I'd throw that out there while talking about ballistics.
