Would it be unethical to maybe call her yourself and try and buy it from her. She might budge if she knew her "ex" wasn't going to profit by getting the part back and she was going to if she sold it to you. Interesting story, just wondered.

It's worth a try, I'm going to be seeing my friend next weekend and I'll try and get a phone #. Before I trade or sell the top I want to be sure that all efforts were made to get the original frame and side plate. Thanks for the suggestion.
