How much and where Heinz? What are the characteristics of the Bulgarian holster compared to others?

Well, I'm going to just assume that this gun has no more value than any other shooter grade Luger and call it quits.

Herb, do you have any ideas on what the value of this gun would be? Is it just a shooter or does it have any kind of collector value?

It is just a shooter. It has been reduced from a collector piece to a curiosity. The extractor with its marking intact is probably the most valuable part of the gun.

As far as placing a value on Lugers, I'm not very good at that. I look at them and if the price seems reasonable I buy it. Placing a value on one is difficult for me, however I don't think I'd go $600 on this one, maybe because I already have one.

Thanks Herb. I don't know anyone who's very good at pricing them except for dealers and they tend to price them high. I think $600 for a shooter is a bit steep too.

I called the guy a few minutes ago and he dropped the price to $550 and would like to do some horse trading... Real nice guy, too. I'm going to see what I have in my vault that might interest him and call him back. Maybe I can get this gun for not too much out of pocket. If that were to happen, most likely I'd remover that extractor and replace it with a cheap one and sell the Bulgarian one outright to help offset the cost of the gun.

He's giving me plenty of time to decide what to do. As I said, real nice guy... :-)

I've never been one to trade before. I usually can't let go of a gun once it's in my possesion. I'm funny like that. That's one of the reasons it's so hard for me to ship this one back to him.

During our conversation he asked if there was anything I'd like to get rid of. I said my stock "no, I dont' think so" when I got to thinking...

When I first got my C&R FFL I bought everything under the Sun. I have two French MABs, a C and a D, which I've never shot and probably never will. I can't see me starting a collection of French guns either. I made mention of them and he perked right up. He's interested in the D as a partial trade. I'm thinking maybe the MAB and three hundred bucks. Not sure how he'll feel about it though.

Which gets me thinking about buying guns just because they're a good deal. If one is willing to do some trading, eventually you'll come across someone who want what you have. :)

Well, I just struck a deal with this guy and I'm trading my MAB D and some cash for it. It will be my first mismatched Luger so now I won't have to shoot the matching guns. :)

Steve, I would be tempted to leave the extractor on it, you can always get money, but how often do you get one of those? But if selling, i am sure we could make a trade!
