John,

I'm sorry, but I've never quite understood what the term "Flame" meant. Really. I assumed it was certainly something negative and not nice, but (for the sake of my simple brain) could you please 'splain it to me?

A couple of times, someone has mentioned to me, that if the Luger design is so good, why isn't it made today. Then I can show them the stainless, and I get the reply, oh I forgot about those. The stainless has kept the Luger alive, for all of the various 100th anniversaries coming up for the Luger. I hope they make it till 2008...

Ah...Different Worlds collide. I am of the old World and cannot agree more that these new pistols were not made with the care and craftsmanship seen in the day of DWM, Mauser et all.
While an interesting thread I believe Flaming is when you rain on someone elses parade to the point of obnoxiousness.
Explaining the technical details and differences is one thing but getting too crazy about it is a no no. I guess there is a fine line. I am a past and future transgressor. Emotions run high and it alianates good decent people.
We are Brothers here and I hope we always are...Jerry Burney

Thank you Jerry,

Well said, understood, and duly noted. I do tend to let my passions run, and sometimes I get a bit jacked-up when the discussion turns to opinions. Fine lines have never been my strong suit, but I'll certainly make a better effort. And I promise not to pick on the stainless Lugers anymore.

Doug,

No one thinks that it is wrong for you to not like the stainless guns. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. We only ask to keep the discussions suitable for "polite" society.

The earlier Luger forum was nearly destroyed when discussions degenerated into name calling and we do not want that to happen again.

I like the stainless guns and you do not. You can state why and I can reply, just let both of us do it so that we could still become friends if we ever met face to face.

Steve
