Gill, there was a Discovery Channel show about this, maybe two, and it was very fascinating, what they found, where and how they did it.

Tac, I could not imagine Oswald's marksmanship Until I went to the Texas Book Depository in Dallas. The range of that shot was less than 25 meters, maybe as little as 10 meters . Not to go off topic, but I think he got off one good shot, and his helpers finished the job.
Your experience with the accuracy is better than mine but one I shot had the famous Italian army cleaned in the desert with sand and urine bore, The other had a very good bore and we shot at 200 yards and would hold about 20" in a light wind, for 1/2 the shots, the others hit in the dirt on the way to the target.
