That would be correct Doug... They made them in simulated mother of pearl (both black like these and also in white), and they also made simulated ivory... all of them with a laminated wooden backing that I presume made it easier to manufacture to a standard. The fit, as I recall, was very dependent on the batch and the gun they were installed on. They make fine shooter grips so you don't damage your originals, but I personally find them too thick for my hand. My preference for shooting grips are the VOPO (bullseye) type... Excellent fit on most lugers and very durable.
