Hi,

Th St+ represents Stahl or steel. The material the case was made of. The black tip is constucted from iron slack and is called 'Sintereisenkern'. Usually the packaging says 'S.E'. These rounds don't work very well in the P08 and the packaging had a warning stating that they were only limitedly useable in the P08. These are late war products (as the 45 designates, this lot was produced in 1945).

They were used in the P08, although they frequently caused jams, as the P08 doesn't like extracting steel cases. I have a dug-up P08 which still had a St+ marked steel case in the chamber.

DNH is Rheinische Westfalische Sprengstoff A.G. (RWS) in Durlach, near Karlsruhe.
