Hi Tom! The ability to identify original BW grips is not to hard, but it does require that you have access to a known original pair to study and note...after this bit of effort, most times you will be able to tell without taking them off the pistol, although to be sure I would request to see the back side, if you are in any doubt. The original bakelite plastic seems to have a shine of it's own, on the edges or borders. Most if not all repro's would not exhibit this shine, also the originals (with wear & tear) have a dirty look all there own also.......and there is also the threaded hole, which at least up till now, seems unique to the originals.
