Hi Morgan! I'm pretty sure it's not too bad for the spring, but it certainly puts a lot of pressure on the mag. seams and feed lip.... I have found that the spring degrades pretty rapidly with repeated, full relaxed to full compression, solid, cycles! After market springs are far worse then originals.. if you find a very large wire dia. heavy mag. spring...like in the post war Mauser mag's of the 70's.. then they have tried to overcome this issue with bulk rather then quality of material....
