When Alsace-Lorraine was part of the Reichsland from 1871 to 1918, Mulhouse was in the Bezirk (district) of Ober-Elsass and was known, as you correctly stated, M�¼hlhausen (literally â??mill houses"). It was the seat of government for the Landkreis (county) of M�¼hlhausen. I still believe that the most likely origin of Pete's holster is M�¼lheim an der Ruhr.
