Well Jim, that stinks!
I am not sure what the pin is, can you provide a scan or picture of the broken piece? Did you take the gun all apart and look for pieces that were broken? (for it to fall out, it must be a semi-exterior part?) Another reason to worry about shooting these old guns (and yes, I have several I shoot). Ed
