Actually they are good looking grips, probably great for shooters. Your guess about the grain lines on the inside indicating that the mold was made from actual grips is probably correct. That would be a common-sense, straightforward approach if the designer wanted a look of authenticity.

It will be interesting to see if anyone can identify them.
