IMO it's a post-WW1 rework of a 9mm military Luger into a 7.65mm commercial Luger. The frame is clearly Erfurt and while the military inspection and acceptance stamps have been removed from the right side of the receiver, the serial number font on the left side of the receiver appears to match the frame and small parts font. Thus it would be a 1916 ~ 1918 Erfurt receiver that was not an Artillery receiver. (Erfurt 1914 Artillery serial numbers only reached the b block with approximately 21,000 made that year. Late 1916 through 1918 Erfurt receivers were notched IAW a military directive but were not used for Artillery model production. They were all short barrel models.) If, by chance, the receiver is actually DWM, then it would have been an Artillery model originally as DWM only notched those receivers destined to be made into an LP.08.

Conversion of military Lugers into 7.65mm commercial models was common in the years following WW!. Some, like yours, had the date scrubbed while others still retain the military date. They are generally very good shooters.

Default Erfurt Pistol Rework

There is a machined slot similar to artillery slots in receiver. what is is that? I agree it appears to be a matching numbered pistol.Looks good.Nice quality pictures
