I have no idea what a "cognoscenti ' is... But really, any actual gun oil will work. Please don't listen to folks that suggest motor oil or transmission fluid.
A medium size bottle will last for many years. I use Rem oil Hoppes army clp The CLP is thick and what put on where the slide goes back and forth, as it is thicker oil.
