This was a little more difficult than the Artillery tunic. There were so many changes to the police from when Hitler took power in 1933.
So, the rank has been identified as Oberwachtmeister (Senior NCO). I've attached a pic from the Bender book on the Police. That was the easy part. The number represents the 7th Detachment of the city police of Karlsruhe (guessing here). The other pic explains the number but the info dates from 1939. At that time there were only four districts listed. I'm thinking the number of districts increased as the war progressed. Karlsruhe shows a population of 145K in the early 1940's. G2 |
