This is all nonsense! The Type 1 holster with the stud fastener was designed for use at sea, where ease of removal would not be an issue. The Type 2 holster with the strap and buckle (just like the P08 holster) was designed for use in the trenches of Flanders where one would think ease of removal would be a concern.
