My daughter lives in Houston near Lake Houston. Their house is about 3 feet higher than the street. The water was about 1 foot lower than the house, so they lucked out.
Their section of the subdivision was higher than the surrounding area so they could not go anyplace. Asked her if the grandkids played in the water and she said no as it had too many chemicals in it.
