Rich, I can't see any slots, so it might be either rivets into the holes where the lanyard loop was located, or the remaining legs of the loop turned into impromptu rivets.

I can see slots. And the one on the Still site is much better done [pic below].
![]() I had originally thought that maybe it had some kind of clamp around the lanyard loop but pulling it out and threading the frame is much more likely... The peep sight base on the Ebbink pic is sitting on top of the lanyard loop; the lanyard holes aren't used...For the peep sight base...And the Lyman/Marbles sight base is dovetailed into the custom Luger base...
