Thank you gentlemen for the replies.
Shame I didn't catch the N3 on ebay in time. Hopefully another one will pop up soon. Funny thing, my .22 in was a wall hanger in the gun room for about two years till I added it to the repair list. Picked it up from a friend down the street when we went to get a wood gun cabinet from him. He didn't need the cabinet and the .22 didn't work so we took both. $17 later, I installed a new trigger into it, cleaned it up of rust and dirt, and now I got an accurate rifle to plink with. Don't know who painted the horses on the stock though. I think they do still make 7/8 scopes....Tasco I think makes one?

Well, it had an extra mounting screw hole...That's not preferable...
![]() [Edit: Winning bid: US $15.49] The Higging receiver is ideal for the side-mount scope base...It's just a tube with the bolt slot cut away...You can drill & tap straight through, not tap a blind hole (always a PITA)... IIRC, the N3 mounts offset to the bore axis...It doesn't sit directly on top of the bore, but a quarter-inch or so to the left...On a .22 single shot, it's not a big deal. There was one scope mount I saw advertised years ago that I liked...It was hinged...So if you were sighting in on a 300 yard shot and a bighorn sheep walked out 50 feet in front of you, you could flip the scope to the side and use the iron sights... I've never been a scope fan (only had one scoped rifle in my life) but that would have gone on my hunting rifle...If NYS law had allowed rifles here...
