Hi Ben, Correct! It's a very rare variation with less than 100 known to exist, almost all of them in France. This one is the first I've ever seen on this side of the Atlantic.

The five pointed star is the French occupation stamp. You also see them on some P.38s.

Really nothing much to do with the LWaA marking rejected guns with the five pointed star.

Or for that matter Krieghoff internal inspectors accepting them with the six-pointed star which they used for a while.
