Again the greatest danger is getting your powders mixed up. Imagine you think your using 18 grs of VV n110 (fairly light load .44 Mag wise but a mangun load nonetheless) and you use instead 18 grs of VV n320.

This photo and other views of this revolver have been around on other gun forums for quite some time. The majority of folks vote for overcharge(double/triple) with a low loft fast powder that made critical mass when the primer ignited. A S&W N frame is a rugged revolver, but there are, obviously, limits to it's strength.
