New guy here with a couple questions about 1912 DWM

You have a Russian Capture/East German "VoPo", (Volks Polizei) issue pistol that started life out as a DWM 1912 military pistol. It has a replaced commercial barrel and several parts that have been renumbered to match the overall pistol. Collectors call this a "Force Matched" pistol. Several Imperial German proofs have been obliterated in the process as well. The magazine is of East German manufacture and is numbered to the gun. The "1" indicates the primary magazine. The spare would have the same serial number but with a "2" in place of the "1".
The sideplate is of modern, (possibly East German) manufacture and not original Imperial manufacture. The grips are also replacements following an early Swiss pattern.

It is import marked into the US. (E.C.C.S.A.?)

Most collectors would consider this a "shooter" valued at $600-$700, but these East German pistols are starting to have a following among history buffs who see them as a legitimate collecting nitch.

Yep, Cross Roads Gun Shop, Pennsauken NJ. Seems to be more than a few of these turning up here lately.

Really hard to tell from web pics (which magnify flaws) but in my area this would fetch ~$800 and probably a hundred or two more...Lugers are scarce here...
