Thank Dwight, I thought the s/n looked funny. Though it would make a nice shooter and the holster was a plus. Bothersome that the frame s/n may not be legit. Seems it might be illegal to register. Just might give it a pass,

Yes. Be careful. Defacing or altering or possessing a firearm that has a changed or modified serial number is a federal crime.

Registration is the least of your worries.
