Not in all ERFURT at all, I've got an ERFURT a double date like yours, (1918/1920) and has got the artillery notch too, I assume it's because ERFURT in 1915 devoted all its efforts in the production of artillery guns, so it's quite common to find guns dated after 1915 still with the artillery frame notch.

I think I must be confused then. I thought 1914 was the only year that ERFURT made artillery Lugers (thats what mine is) and don't recall seeing any other chamber date on their artilleries. I have had/seen several 4" ERFURTs with the notched frame.
Just wondering.
