I have another which gives no idea of it's assigned unit:

1.E.M.G.10

1st Ersatz-Machinengewehr-Kompany (weapon#)10

What unit would this MG company be assigned to?

Well, if it has no known assigned unit, I guess I'll have invent one and assign it as the MG unit who had Cpl York, later Sgt York and his men pinned down until he took charge like all good and brave "ARMY" noncoms did and do and took them out like he did shooting turkey and geese back in Tennessee. YA!!! that's it!!!!

In my case, at least the first part applies.

If the number of the Gun is matching with a number of the list and if it does not have the hold open added than it is a Luger of the 1. Ersatz M.G.K. of the Bavarian II. Army Corps.

Guten Abend Klaus!!!! It's close but no cigar...ser# is 6241 chamber date 1911. I really wish it was part of a Bavarian unit.
