Piet, 1911 was a transition year for DWM P08s. Early 1911s will have the side plate serial number in the commercial placement on the bottum edge. At some point in the e block the serial numbers are found in the typical military locations on the side of the side plate and locking lever. Your pistol in the f block should be marked in the latter manner.
