Hi Kai and welcome to the forum.
Looks like the s/n is "610e" rather than 901e. A nice 1940 date "42" code Mauser Luger. Looks to be all matching including magazine and in original finsh. As Doug mentions, the suffix letter on the front of the frame above the trigger guard is part of the serial number, and a suffix letter. There were also no suffix letter serial number blocks after "z" and before "a" blocks that are abbreviated "ns". Like "1234ns. He's back here in the USA, but people like Jerry can repair your holster strap, restoring your holster.
