Grumman F4- Hellcat that got its reputation at the Battle of Midway the carrier based. Eric Sloan a New England illustrationist. He is all so famous for His clouds and weather. He drew this in 1937 also did the mural entryway for our Air And Space Museum, in washington. Mow was given it from Grumman for work as a liason with the navy N.A.V.I.L.C.O. Mom died in 1979 during my first year in law school and take it out every few years to check its condition.

I am not as familiar with Sloan's aviation art as I am with his work about hand-hewn barns. His representational art is excellent.
