Or it could just be the photographer saying: "Hey, hold the gun in your left hand instead, it will look better from this angle".

Who knows, could be a combination of everything said in this thread. The bottom line is that Himmler carried an HSc, a guy tried to sell it to me just a couple of months ago at a show. I passed and told him to call me when he has found Hitler's PPK.

This is an awful thing to say, but in that second photo in profile he looks like the late William Colby.
