Gregory..GERMANY is usually found on Weimar era pistols exported to an English speaking country most likely the USA in the 1920's.

Serials should be found on the front frame and under the barrel. Might include a letter suffix too.
Other numbers..the last 2 didgits of a 4 number serial might be found hidden on commercial pistols under the bottom edge of the sideplate, safety lever, takedown lever or on the back of the toggle train. Could also be on the inside of the grips.
