Contrary to the 1911 (
) the Luger needs little improvement when it comes to reliability, provided the gun is in good technical order with crisp springs, a good magazine and ammunition that sticks closer to old world standards than to current SAAMI standards. Sight mods are advisable, as the standard sights are a bit of a challenge. The Swiss 06/29 has a good sight combo, as do the post war Mausers. |
